Today the homeland security adviser to President Donald Trump said the WannaCry Ransomware is From North Korea.
The WannaCry worm was very effective earlier this year. It affected more than 200,000 computers all around the world. WannaCry is a ransomware cryptoworm. It targets Windows computers by encrypting data and demanding ransom payments in the Bitcoin cryptocurrency.

It had long been suspected to have originated from North Korea. Today the United States government officially blamed the rouge regime.
“After careful investigation, the United States is publicly attributing the massive WannaCry cyberattack to North Korea,” White House homeland security adviser Tom Bossert told reporters Tuesday.
Some analysts suggest that the WannaCry Ransomware From North Korea is an worrying salvo in the on-going cyber-war. Government officials wow that Pyongyang will be held accountable. Bossert singled out Facebook and Microsoft as companies that helped defeat North Korean cyber threats.
“North Korea has acted especially badly, largely unchecked, for more than a decade, and its malicious behavior is growing more egregious,” Bossert wrote. “WannaCry was indiscriminately reckless.”
