NFL Pre Draft Power Rankings

Our system for predicting NFL games is getting a complete over haul, so we’ve been in that code for days…  That being the case we thought that we would post the latest team power rankings that include free agent signings.

The draft ( and trades ) will effect these ratings, so we will re-calculate on April 27th.

The Top 12 NFL Teams

  1. New Orleans Saints
  2. Los Angeles Rams
  3. New England Patriots
  4. Los Angeles Chargers
  5. Chicago Bears
  6. Baltimore Ravens
  7. Kansas City Chiefs
  8. Houston Texans
  9. Seattle Seahawks
  10. Philadelphia Eagles
  11. Atlanta Falcons
  12. Cleveland Browns

These are essentially the playoff teams from last year with the Falcons and Browns replacing the Cowboys and Colts respectively.

The Falcons under performed their numbers last year and are predicted to rebound back towards the mean.

The Cleveland Browns are the biggest movers since this time last year as well as since from when the season ended until now.  Our model loves their strong second half last year as well as landing a true number one receiver in free agency.

The Worst 10 Teams in the NFL

On the other end of the spectrum are bad teams that are staying bad – may the draft gods smile upon them.

  1. Oakland Raiders
  2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  3. New York Jets
  4. San Francisco 49ers
  5. New York Giants
  6. Cincinnati Bengals
  7. Washington Redskins
  8. Buffalo Bills
  9. Miami Dolphins
  10. Arizona Cardinals

The Oakland (for now) Raiders almost escape the bottom 10 and the Cardinals remain the very worst of the worst. We’ll give you another little peak into our numbers after the draft.
