Web Design Concept

It’s been quite a while since there was a design post on this site…  While I have admittedly spent more time on the tech side of things lately, I still get to come up with a design idea occasionally.

As the marketplace, in its infinite wisdom, has decided that I spend more time doing web-design / web-dev again, I’ve spent significant time creating graphics for the first time in ages.

It’s nice to flex those muscles again.  Like every muscle however, if you don’t use it, you lose it.

Not to mention I am on a Linux machine.  Using the GIMP

The design above was a concept that I came up with on the fly.  Off the dome.  Contemporaneously, as it were.

I started working on the CSS with the color pallet (slide 2) and then came up with some graphics once I had a look liked.  I started with a simple looking WP theme – just white background, black text – and built it up to what you see.

While my graphic design chops have atrophied somewhat my CSS skills are still very strong.  I have been focused on Bootstrap but stepping outside that box to style woocommerce and a unfamiliar theme was almost fun.

It’s good to know that I can still go from concept to 80% completion as fast as anyone 🙂

Need something digital designed or created?  Maybe I can help.
